Sean Kinkade


Sean Kinkade hails from Oregon but was raised in Texas. He attended the University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice. He is currently a law enforcement officer and works within a behavioral health unit. Within the unit, he is responsible for responding to mental health crises in the field, management of high-risk individuals, developing and maintaining a database which houses all activity and information for the unit, and identifying, investigating, assessing and mitigating threats within the community.

Sean has 15 years of experience as an officer in the field and training. He is a certified Mental Health Peace Officer, holds his Master Peace Officer Certification, TCOLE Instructor, Certified Master Trainer for the Department of Homeland Security’s National Threat Evaluation and Reporting program, and trained in structured professional judgement tools. Sean has assisted training both recruit and incumbent officers on the topics of Crisis Intervention Training since 2020. During his time as a patrol officer, he served as an ancillary Behavioral Health Response Officer, assisting supervisors and officers on behavioral health calls and providing guidance.

Sean is also a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, specifically the South Central Chapter. He has attended numerous trainings and conferences focusing on mental health and Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management.
